Thank You from Delisi Friday

On June 1st, my Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Woman of the Year campaign came to an end. I am proud to say I was 1 of 16 candidates this year in San Antonio and we raised an outstanding amount of $1,126,107 for blood cancer!  My team and I were able to raise $53,927 and more than 50% of my fundraising was thanks to many of the attorneys who read this magazine. Thank YOU! Many of you who donated shared touching stories of how blood cancer has impacted someone you love. Thank you for sharing your personal connection with me and helping me see the wide reach of this disease. Every candidate who raised $50,000 or more is able to fund a blood cancer research grant. Thanks to many of you, I reached that goal and am 1 of 7 candidates who have the honor of naming a research grant after someone later this year. I’ve selected to fund a pediatric and young adult blood cancer research grant after my friend Hercie Guel-Escobar of the law firm Chamberlain Hrdlicka. Hercie just ...

ATAA Teams UP With Trucking School

Michael Cowen Takes the Wheel with a Hands-On Approach to Better Understanding Trucking and Truck Drivers ATAAhas teamed up with a trucking school to offer ATAA (Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys) members a unique trucking program. This program in Montana includes classroom work with instructors experienced in trucking litigation, accident causation, vehicle maintenance and proper vehicle operation combined with real hands-on experience behind the wheel of a big-rig. You may have seen a video on our law firm social media recently, of Michael Cowen taking this course and his experience with the program. As an ATAA member, Cowen took advantage of this course and returned to the office with a deeper understanding of 18-wheelers. “It’s been a great experience. The people have been great, it’s amazing how much I’ve learned, and frankly it’s going to be a lot harder for a truck driver to pull something over me on one of our cases now,” Cowen added. After having a great experie...

Benefits of Recurring Internal Communication

Image
Many times, when a firm operates with multiple locations, teams find it difficult to stay in touch and informed on what is happening within the other offices. Sometimes it’s even hard to stay connected with what’s happening in a single busy office with lots of staff and attorneys working on their own caseloads. We’ve found it very helpful to create a monthly newsletter called “Communique,” which we circulate internally once a month to share information and celebrate together more frequently. Here are some topics we cover, but we encourage you to think about your firm and what would work best for you. Settled Cases With so much happening across each of our offices, it’s hard to know whose cases close and when. Each month we like to celebrate everyone’s wins, highlight cases that closed the previous month, and share a few details about the settlement. We all work hard and can all appreciate being recognized! Office Announcements With 35 employees throughout the CRP offices,...

“Alexa, find a personal injury attorney near me.”

Voice search is no longer just for hearing the weather forecast or playing music. Voice search is continuing to grow; Pew Research Center reports 46% of Americans use digital voice assistants. Furthermore, comScore predicts by 2020 that 50% of searches will be done by voice. Initially, you may not think potential clients will use voice search to find an attorney, but the legal industry is already buzzing on how this trend will affect legal marketing. To evolve with the shifting trends, law firms will need to adjust their marketing strategies to include tactics for digital voice devices. Typing vs Talking When people type to search, it’s often just a few key words or phrases. When someone speaks to search, they ask a question as if they are talking to another person. It’s important that the content on your website is curated to the way someone may speak. Having a FAQ page is a great way to address this, listing common questions your target audience may ask in their search. R...
